A solution to my Christmas knitting problem presented itself today. One of the co-workers I've been teaching to knit asked for an easy dish cloth pattern. YEAH! I quickly wrote up a very simple pattern and then it came to me. I could knit these and settle my gift giving problem. I still have to knit them, but dish cloths are quicker that sweaters, aren't they?
Here's the pattern:
Kd’s Oh so easy dish cloth
Materials: Cotton dishcloth yarn
Needles: Different yarns recommend different size needles. Check the band around the yarn (or do what I do and use what ever size you have handy)
Row 1: cast on 4 (I used the long tail cast on method)
Row 2: knit across
Row 3: k1, yarn over needle (YO), knit across (this will give you 1 stitch increase)
Repeat row 3 until you have 45 stitches
Now for the decrease:
Next row: knit 2 together, YO, knit 2 together, knit across (this will decrease 1 stitch)
Repeat last row until you are down to 4 stitches.
Bind off.

How many days till Christmas? Will I still be knitting on Christmas Eve? Not likely as I have to mail the gifts so…..if they aren’t done by Thanksgiving I’m really in trouble.
Maybe I need to spend some time on my list. What about doing some fine tuning on my list? Instead of a sweater… maybe a hat or scarf?
Currently I have…. Family members to knit for….Good friends to knit for and …co workers who always think I can knit for them. This doesn’t include the charity hats I planned to do.
Wonder if anyone will even notice if they didn’t get a hand knit this year?
Usually I do some crafts too. Two years ago I did glass blocks with mini lights and ribbons. Last year I did wine bottles with lights and embellishments. Not sure about this year. The crafts show start in Oct/Nov may give me some ideas, so I’ll wait and see.

I've been knitting, really, I have
Has it occured to anyone that Christmas is way to close? I've been knitting, knitting and knitting, but the list just seems to be getting longer. I've finished some things, but can't show you as they are for gifts. So... here's some photos of the grand kids, at least Trina's kids. Missy's still grounded as she doesn't seem to be able to send photos.
