Opps I did it again

Do you remember a few months back when I locked us out of the house and the landlord had to break in for us? Well... yep... I did it again. Once again we didn't have the landlords phone number with us. And this time, the landlords sister (who lives next door) wasn't home. The door has a "safety' lock on it. If you leave the key in the lock on the inside, you can't unlock it from the outside.

Oh great, I'm beginning to panic.

I did leave a window cracked open, but the windows here are funny, you can't just push them up.

Tom's talking to the neighbors (on the other side) and they are all trying to figure out what to do. I'm really getting into a panic and I'll admit I was on the verge of tears... when what do I see?

Our landlord, Nicholas, driving by. He just happened to be going by on his way to pick up his son. I waved him down, and once again, he came to our rescue. He popped the window open, climed in and opened the door.

The whole time, he's laughing. It was just dumb luck that he was driving by. After he opened the door, he told us, he was going to change the lock on the door so we wouldn't have that problem again. Guess he doesn't want to have to break in for us anymore.

Changing the lock sounds like a good idea to me.

Disappointment!

Last week I found out about a training course I needed to take was being given in Norfolk, VA. I put in for it, the Base agreed to pay for the course and transportation. Yeah!... but I had to get into the course.
Here's where the disappointment comes in... I didn't get in the course. No one from our Base got in. Darn... I intended to take some leave, spend time with family, go shopping and bring Mom back to Germany with me. Oh well.

I have been knitting. Finished two scarfs and started another Christmas present.

OH.. forgot to tell you. Tom got me a new camera. I know, I have 5 cameras but this one is small and has the "no shake" stabilizer. It fits in my purse. I would have put it to good use if I had gotten that trip to VA.
