Craft room update

Two more bags for goodwill, one more bag of trash and 6 bins of yarn; I can see the carpet for the first time in weeks. Not that the carpet looks good, but at least I know it’s there. The closet is cleaned and the bookcases are getting filled with books from all over the room. I’ve even trying to separate the knitting books from the craft and photo books.

The knitting machines are back in their cases and all the parts and accessories are in the white cabinet. One table is down and one more to go (it’s on the floor upside down waiting for Tom’s help in moving it out).

See all the bins of yarn? No, I haven’t separated the yarn yet, I just put all the yarn in bins. Yarn came out of the closet, cabinet, storage units, baskets and bins. I’ll take my time going through the “stash”. I also have two bins of books and magazines (mostly knitting) to go through.

My goal is to get this room in shape this weekend, but if it’s really nice out, I may have to take the Miata out for a ride with the top down.

The Great Craft Room cleaning Update

The room is still a mess, but the rest of the house is nice and clean. Does that count? But I must confess... I didn't clean the house. My friend Cathy's wonderful daughter did the clean up. This is my Christmas present to myself. I will try to finish the craft room this weekend.

If I could just get organized!

There may be nothing wrong with you,
the way you live, the work you do
but I can very plainly see
exactly what is wrong with me.

It isn’t that I’m indolent,
or dodging duty by intent.
I work as hard as anyone
yet I get so little done.

The morning goes, noon is here
Before I know the night is near
And all around me I regret
Are things I haven’t finished yet.

If I could only get organized
I often time have realized
Not all that matters is the man
The man must also have a plan.

With you there may be nothing wrong
But here’s my trouble right along
I do the things that don’t amount
To very much of any account.

They really seemed important though
And I let a lot of other matters go
I nibble this, I nibble that
But never finish what I’m at.

I work as hard as any one
And yet I get so little done
I’d do so much, you’d be surprised
If I could just get organized.

Note: Two hours into the "great craft room clean up". Do you see the mess? It's worst than before I started cleaning. Two hours, three trash bags, two good will bags filled and who knows how many tubs of yarn. Hey, I did manage to get the closet cleaned. Maybe tomorrow I'll fill it back up again.
