Recently I got Antje Gillingham's book Knitting circles around socks.
I'm not much of a sock knitter but figured I give the circular thing a chance. In the past I've tried knitting socks on double pointed needles, you know, one at a time. I'd hate to admit how many orphan socks I have hiding in my craft room.
So I figured if I can knit them both at once, maybe I wouldn't add another "one" to my pile.
First let me say that the book is great. The only problem I have is that I try to anticipate the next step in the process. I had to read and reread the pattern. The pattern wasn't the problem, my reading was the issue. I skipped along and missed important steps. So I "ripped" out twice before I got the heels done. Once I figured out my reading problem, the process has moved along pretty fast. I've working on the instep now. Can't wait for the toes. This time I'm going to really read the pattern and not think I know what to do.
I hope to finish knitting the socks tomorrow.
Oh yeah, Tommy leaves Monday, so if you hear about a sobbing woman in the San Antonio Airport, you'll know who's causing the problem.
