IKE

Ike missed us, but those poor people in the areas hit.

I don't think I like Ike

It looks like we are in the path of Ike. We are only 115 miles from Corpus Christi and it looks like they are going to take a hit. The base has already started notifications and wants to have employees identify where they are going to be during the storm. I called Tom and his suggestion was to head for the casino in Louisiana. Although I like that idea, it's not practical as it's a 7 hour trip. The storms expected to hit Friday night/Saturday morning. It's not likely the base will let us off on Friday. Besides who knows what path Ike will take.

Our house is brick and we sit on high land and are not near any rivers. Guess we'd better stock up on water, beer and canned food cause the restaurants might be closed. Gad, does that mean I'd have to cook? Does a microwave work without electricity?

So if you watch the news and you see a little red Miata floating down the road, it just might be mine.

It's finished

I love this vest. It knitted fast, it looks great. Only one problem, the yarn wasn't the greatest stuff. Of the 6 skeins, 5 had knots in them where the yarn had been retied. One skein had 5 ties within about 3 rows. UGH! Otherwise the yarn worked up nice. Not sure I'd use it again as I hated having to pull out knitting so I could get the knot to the side of the vest.
