I have a problem!

I can’t figure out a way to:
Knit on Empire Swing Cardigan (started yesterday)
Knit on Christmas stockings (need 10 only finished 3)
Watch the History Channel (from Ireland)
Work on photos in Photoshop Editor (downloading first would help)
Listen to Itouch bookFix lunch
Do laundry (ok so the washer and dryer do the work, but I have to load, unload and fold)
Why can’t I multi task?

Today's session

In recent weeks I’ve noticed that I seem to be the only one who comes to work on time, doesn’t abuse the lunch hour (1 ½ to 2 hours) and puts in 8 hours for 8 hours pay. Maybe it’s because we are overseas, maybe it’s that I don’t see that they come in on weekends. I just see that people, who are scheduled to start the same time as I’m scheduled, come in 30 to 90 minutes later. These same ones leave either before I do, or are going out the door when I leave. Speaking about lunch, because of the “lack” of staff, I often eat my lunch at my desk, because we have customers that walk in without appointments and expect answers to their questions. Note: my job is not in customer service, I’m management advisory.

Now for knitting. As you know I’m a constant knitter. I always have something on needles and I love to give my knitting as gifts. In the past, I’ve shared my knitting with friends and family. I love the look on the faces as they open their gift. Knitting takes time and isn’t cheap as I love to use nice yarns. Co-workers here have admired my knitting (as I usually have my knitting bag with me at work). Some co-workers have asked me to knit something for them; I tell them I knit for fun and do not take order to make items. In the past few weeks we’ve had some birthdays, co-workers who are leaving and grand babies being born, and that gave me an excuse to give knitting. I don’t expect you to “gush” over the gift, but I do expect to see some sort of appreciation. Maybe it’s just me, maybe it’s because in my last job, people really seemed to like the fact that I took the time to do something just for them. That doesn’t seem to be the case here. I think, I’ll just knit for family and “very” close friends (do you hear that Lucy?).

Beautiful Sunday Road trip

Today was a warm sunny day. The Miata needed gas, so that was our excuse for a road trip. Instead of going to the closest base gas station, we made a trip to the base that Tom works at. After going through the outskirts of Landstuhl, we took a short "twisty" road trip to the base. Check out the Christmas World. This wasn't there last week.

On the way back, while stopped at a yeild sign, we were hit with an "Acorn" Bomb. It fell from the sky, hit Tom's hat, then my arm. Here's the proof.
Additional Photos added to Flickr

Oh, when we returned home, Tom saw that I had another scratch on the Miata. No I didn't do it. It looks like someone leaned on the side of the car to look in, and scratched the hood. Great. I'm not getting this painted again! The Miata is almost 2 years old, it' can have scratchs!!!
And it now looks like rain!

Ramstein Bazaar Sept 2009

Since Tom had to work today, I decided to spend the morning at the Ramstein Bazaar. I’d been told it was the greatest thing since “sliced bread” and it was a huge market. The Bazaar ran from Thursday to Sunday. Thursday and Friday were designated as “stroller” friendly.
On Saturday and Sunday you could bring your children, but you couldn’t take strollers into the buildings. That was nice, as you didn’t have to dodge strollers, but there were still kids.

The Bazaar was OK, but I guess I was expecting more. I arrived about 15 minutes before it opened. There were no waiting lines, and lots of parking. I have been told that it get’s crowded in the afternoon and on Sunday.

There were items from all over Europe. But, they “discouraged” taking photos. So I only got a few shots inside (and they are blurred).
I spent about 2 hours walking around and shopping. I got a few things for Christmas gifts and picked up lunch. Since my best friend “Lucy” in SA was not there to make me eat healthy, I had funnel cakes (with tons of powdered sugar), some cotton candy and a Pepsi for lunch. OK, so it wasn’t healthy, but gee it was good.

Compaired to the "Great" Craft bazaars in SA, this was different as it has a European flare, but the Texas markets have a feeling of fun.

One of the reason I didn’t spend all day at the Bazaar was that it’s not so much fun to shop and look at items if you are alone. I know I sure didn’t want Tom there; he’s no fun to shop with.

And now on the knitting front: I’ve finished the vest and hat I’ve been working on. So here’s proof.
