Socks on circular needles?
Recently I got Antje Gillingham's book Knitting circles around socks.
I'm not much of a sock knitter but figured I give the circular thing a chance. In the past I've tried knitting socks on double pointed needles, you know, one at a time. I'd hate to admit how many orphan socks I have hiding in my craft room.
So I figured if I can knit them both at once, maybe I wouldn't add another "one" to my pile.
First let me say that the book is great. The only problem I have is that I try to anticipate the next step in the process. I had to read and reread the pattern. The pattern wasn't the problem, my reading was the issue. I skipped along and missed important steps. So I "ripped" out twice before I got the heels done. Once I figured out my reading problem, the process has moved along pretty fast. I've working on the instep now. Can't wait for the toes. This time I'm going to really read the pattern and not think I know what to do.
I hope to finish knitting the socks tomorrow.
Oh yeah, Tommy leaves Monday, so if you hear about a sobbing woman in the San Antonio Airport, you'll know who's causing the problem.

Cousins
They are alot alike in attitude, both very laid back. Since Jason is going to go to collage in Alabama and Tommy lives in Florida, they hope to spend some time together during the fall.
Now for a knitting update: mmmm well I'd better admit it, I haven't been doing a lot of knitting lately. I have been working on a cable sweater for Pat's grandson (he's only 3 months). Projects waiting in line are a sweater for Pat's granddaughter (she's 2) and socks on circular needles. The Wednesday knitting group had 3 in attendance yesterday. The "Debs", Marva and I went over how to read a pattern and how to do a knitted ripple pattern. They are so quick on the uptake, it's hard for me to keep ahead of them.
That's all for today. Tommy's going to put up two ceiling fans for me so I need to get the kitchen and living room ready.
Keep on knitting
