Yep, I lost the pattern. I missed 2 rows. What's worst is that I didn't see it until I looked closely at the photo!
I ripped back to the mistake and re-knit the back. The rest of the sweater has been knitted and sewed together. Once I get the buttons on it, I'll take another photo.
"for my knitting co-workers", even someone that has been knitting for years and years can make mistakes.

See the mistake?

Say it ain't so

Today I drove into SA to shop at the Yarn Barn http://yarnbarnsa.com/.
What do I see on their front door? They are closing. OH NO! Say it ain't so!! I couldn't believe it. Yep, they lost their lease and the owner decided it was time to retire. What am I going to do for my for my "yarn fix"?
Yes, there is another yarn shop across town, but they don't carry the same kind of yarn. Most importantly, the don't carry Sirdar Snuggly DK. This is my favorite yarn to knit baby items with. I guess I'll have to find an internet source for my fix. While at the Yarn Barn, I picked up stash yarn. I got a few baby items on my "To Knit" list. I'll keep checking in at the Yarn Barn both to find out if someone else buys it and moves the store, but also to see what they put on sale.

I left the Yarn Barn still reeling from the news. So what else could I do? I went shopping. A stop at ColdWater Creek filled the trunk of the Miata with new clothes. Remember the Miata has a very small trunk, so I didn't break the bank. But I did put a dent in the check book.

Knitting is a creative outlet for most knitters. Some come by it naturally. Others have to practice, practice and practice. My Grandmother used to say “Practice Makes Perfect”. My co-workers have really been practicing. In our office there now 7 new knitters and one that we’ve made an unofficial co-worker because she works upstairs from us.
The first of our group (MC) I taught to knit over a year ago. She’s progressed from scarves and hats to sweaters and handbags. She’s progressed quickly especially considering I’m right handed and she’s left handed. Teaching her to knit should have been difficult, but she’s one of those natural knitters.
The second co-worker (SM) I taught has only been knitting just over 4 months. She’s made washcloths and completed a baby sweater for her new niece. Once she gets the yarn and needles she’ll be starting booties. The pattern she’s using is one I’ve used before so it shouldn’t be to hard to show her different techniques needed.
The others have been knitting only a couple weeks and two of them have already moved from washcloths to scarves. I’m really enjoying seeing the girls move along with their knitting and improving their skills’.
Speaking of girls, yesterday I asked our one and only male co-worker if he wanted to join our knitting group. He declined but did say he admired the scarves. I guess we’ll have to knit a scarf for him. How does dark blue and grey sound or maybe SPURS colors, silver and black?

No knitting photos today, but there's grandkids!

Don’t you just love internet and digital cameras? I may live 1200 miles from Florida and Tennessee, but I can still see the grandkids. When the girls remember to upload photos.

Missy's kids, Danielle, Aurora and Jack Jack.

Trina's kids, Davey's #25. Meghan's the blond.
